SMA Foundation Scholarships

SMA Foundation offers academic scholarships and technical/trade school scholarships. The application period for the 2024-2025 school year is now closed. All SMA members are eligible to apply. SMA Foundation offers scholarships to university, college, community college and junior college students as well as trade and technical school students. Applicants must be an employee or dependent of someone employed by a SMA member company in good standing.

Personal Narrative
The personal narrative is an important part of the application process and should include information on current and planned studies, career goals, interests and the reason for applying for the scholarship. Emphasize how this scholarship will help you in your future endeavors and any information about yourself that you think would be helpful.

Recipients and scholarship amounts are determined by the SMA Foundation Board of Trustees based on your personal narrative, financial need, academic and personal achievements and other qualifications. Scholarships are awarded for the upcoming school year for an amount determined by the Foundation Board of Trustees. Scholarships are valid for the academic year in which they are awarded. Trade and technical scholarships are awarded based on a timeline that coincides with the program/school you are attending.
